Wet Pallet

Ron and I went to Whiz on rt 9 today and played a really dead close game in their excellent store. Afterwards we were bobbling around the store looking for something cheap to purchase to support them. I stumbled across a wet pallet and thought that since I haven't yet treated myself to an air brush that I would do this for myself and pick up a wet pallet to help with some really difficult custom blend work that I am doing for a friend.

I don't imagine that there is anything specifically wonderful about this one, but I am just in love with the concept itself. It has taken a project of mixing custom colours to paint black from a multi-day project to get the shading correct to a multi-hour project.

That means that there will be updates soon. Oh and the Whiz on rt 9 may become my new 'home base'!

IG at "ARd Boyz

I have spent the week getting ready for the upcoming 'ARd Boyz tournament. I will likely head down to Veteran's Games in Rhode Island to play at a friend's store, even though it is a little far to travel. I am not really sure what to expect as this will be my first 'ARd Boyz and I typically don't play very hard army lists.

In that vein, my idea is to play a fairly 'easy' list, but I think people will have great problems with it in 'ARd Boyz, as it won't exactaly be what they are expecting.

I am planning on running two large blob squads backed up by Straken. One blob squad is full of melta, krak grenades and power weapons and will run with a priest. I am hoping that this will be a formidable close combat tar pit and with the power weapons, it is possible that it will totally shut down assaults that come its way. The real power however will be on the charge, as Straken will give them furious assault, and the priest will allow them to reroll misses. 5 power weapons should be enough to really mess people up, they will have a base of 2 attacks (10) assuming they pass their counter charge, this will become 3 attacks standing still.

I have also included the "must have" Inquisitor from the Daemon Hunters codex with two Mystics. This (for a few more months at least) will allow me free shots at deep striking units. I plan to keep these fairly close to my two Leman Russ Battle tanks in the case of a landing drop pod, and hope that I can get most of the troops at the same time. My blob squad should be able to handle most other things. I have never taken one of these before, so I also gave her a few treats, a custom converted Rhino and a holy Relic. (I guess she flashes the troops) For those not in the know, this gives units within 12" an extra attack and can be used at any point in the game, including the opponents turn. This will add an addition punch to those blob squads.

I just hope that I don't have too many kill points!

I feel that I have brought Malifaux to my local gaming scene. After mentioning it off and on a few times, there are several guys who have fallen full force into it. With the upcoming expansions I am hoping that I may finally be able to get in a narrative campaign or two as past attempts with Necromunda or Blood Bowl have sizzled.

Here are some pictures of my Jack the ripper based Seamus. As such, I have given Seamus a mustache akin to Jack and I have painted him up in a much more traditional manner, matching the colours in the book instead of the miniature featured in the book, which I felt was a bit off. Photobucket

I have thus far painted up two of the belles in very typical colour schemes. I think the last one will either be baby blue, or to stick with the secondary colours, she may be orange. Photobucket

Of note is how poor the sculpt actually is on the face of the purple belle. For some reason a mold line was placed right over her face, obscuring any chance at forming detail. I sculpted half of the face back on her, but left the other half as it faced backwards. Maybe she is supposed to have a mutilated face and huge gaping eye sockets. Anyone else have this problem? Photobucket

Regardless, the problem is largely obscured by the parasol and I think I have covered it up well enough. Photobucket
I have also painted up a few dogs. These guys were easy and great fun to do. I hope to add more in the very near future. Photobucket Photobucket
Up next to be painted is either the last belle or Mortimer. Its great to push through these guys so fast. I am more than half way through and it was a breeze so far. Now to build some corpse counters...

Brand new Protip just out.
Here is a final picture of the two models together. I'll try to get a few more pics up as time passes. Post a comment with your own protip if you would like.

Pro Tip: Roll those 6's

Here is an excellent Protip on how to roll those mystical 6's when you are at a tournament. Flip the magnet over for leadership rolls.

Blague

Welcome. I will try to use this location to collect some of the ongoing projects that I am working on. I am currently working on lots of Warhammer stuff, but I am also building a Gorkamorka mob, starting up Malifaux and painting an Eldar army. Hope you enjoy this.
